Brrrrrrrr
A few weeks ago when I did this fancy-pants Winter tablescape, I had no idea Old Man Winter was still planning to stop by for a visit. He’d thrown some chilly days our way, but mostly he was MIA—until this week.
First came the ice…
(almost an inch of it!)
… and then the snow.
Since so many of us are tucked inside on these cold days, it seems like the perfect time to quick-change the “over the top” dishes in my last tablescape and replace them with a look that’s comfy-casual.
Check out the changes:
- Wood-look charger
- Wood napkin rings
- Plaid linen napkins
- Everyday Mikasa “Italian Countryside” dinner plate
- Trade in the pearl-handled flatware
- Favorite Dollar Tree goblets
- Mini pine cones added to the (same as before) centerpiece
Light the candles—and stay warm! I certainly plan to… as we head to negative numbers overnight.
Brrrrrrrr
I wonder… Do woods and plaids—and pinecones—say “casual” to you? What are your comfy-casual tablescape items of choice?
By the way, if you’re stuck inside and wondering what to do with yourself—or the kids—how about this? Just click on the picture to read all about it. I guarantee you it will be time well spent!
I’ll be joining:

Tablescape Thursday at Between Naps on the Porch
Pink Saturday at How Sweet the Sound
Isn’t it amazing how a few little details can completely change the feel and ambiance of a table? Bringing in the wood and the plaid makes it so cozy warm. And even though your photos of the outdoors look gorgeous, I can’t imagine going outside hahaha I’m such a warm weather girl. The hubby makes fun of me when I take sweaters into the movie theaters. Great job on your tablescapes Susan. I’d love to have dinner at either table 🙂
The fancy pants tablescape is very pretty, Susan, but the comfy casual setting has my name written all over it. Love the centerpiece, too!
Lovely! those plaid napkins are wonderful.
Nature has a way of changing our plans in a hurry. Love the plaid napkins.
