Last week for the first time in a very long time, I picked up the camera. Not the phone camera.
The camera.
It had been so long I had to re-familiarize myself with the buttons and settings, but it felt good in my hands.
I wonder why I put it away over a year ago?
I wonder . . . Is there something you know is good for your spirit that you’ve set aside, too?
We were traveling cross country from Tennessee to Colorado (and back again) in less than a week, but we made time to slow down just a tad along the way, and I was really glad I stuck in the camera before we left.
I’ve got so much to learn about photography, but even in my learn-as-I-go state, I managed to capture a few memories worth keeping. Hopefully you’ll find one or two that speak to you.
Take care of yourselves, friends! If we’re not careful, the holiday hustle will be upon us, and we’ll forget to do it. Let’s all plan ahead this year and lower our stress so we’ll be better family, friends, and neighbors to those around us. Join me?
Happy (almost) Fall!
Hi Susan!
Your pictures are beautiful, you are an excellent photographer, part of it is knowing what to photograph!! And I love your choices! I do agree with about self care, so important!! Especially during the holidays and every year I try to plan ahead/ start early and that does help with the stress! And it’s never too soon to start! So glad to see you back…..
Cindy, thanks for your kind words. It’s nice to be back—and great to see you, too! I’m often not very good about taking care to listen when my mind says to slow down, but I’m working on it! Perhaps someone else needs that same encouragement today.
Your pictures are so wonderful, Susan! You should definitely pick up your real camera often! It’s so easy to just depend on our phone, but it’s still nice to have high quality photos.
