Simple Pleasures

I promised myself that if I hit one of several deadlines tonight I would take time to visit with you.  I barely made it.  It’s a silly, simple pleasure I’m giving myself really, but you see I haven’t missed partying at Tablescape Thursday since I started blogging almost two years ago.  Not always a tablescape, mind you, but something table-related.

My debut tablescape was in celebration of the 100th tablescape celebration at Between Naps on the Porch.  This week is the 190th Tablescape Thursday.  Hard to believe … but what a fun ride!

Tonight’s simple table was one I quickly threw together on the porch a few weeks ago.  It was a slightly cool morning, and a friend I hadn’t seen in awhile had a couple of unexpected minutes to stop by.

The visit was fast … but we made the most of it.  Better to have an instant hot drink and a visit with a friend than to miss it, don’t you think?

What simple pleasures have you had lately?

I’ll be linking to Tablescape Thursday at Between Naps on the Porch.

It was another simple pleasure, but it’s going away today …  Picnik online photo editing software. It was user-friendly (which is what I need!), and I hope I can find another “friend” to replace it.  Any suggestions?

  1. Oh What a basket of Simple Pleasure Delights! Make mine the “TASTERS CHOICE” please!!! LOVE those white CUP&SAUCERS…I (((LOVE))) raised patterns of the same color, it always reminds me of LACE!!! and you “KNOW” how I LOVE LACE!!!
    Have a wonderful FUN week,

  2. I’m currently taking a photography course, and we recently discussed the demise of Picnik. The instructor highly recommends Gimp. Also check out LunaPik, Fixr, FotoFlexr, and Big Huge Labs. If you have a Mac, I can highly recommend Aperture. The instructor thinks that Gimp most closely replicates Adobe PhotoShop. There are few things more precious than stolen moments with a dear friend…love the idea and love the table. Wish that we could steal some moments. Thanks for inviting us for a peak. Cherry Kay

  3. I’ll take a quick visit over a quick table setting any day! Love that you did this for your friend.

They say that Pikmonkey (or is it Picmonkey) is as good as Picnik was-and it was developed by some of the people that did Picnik. So..you might want to give it a try. They say it is even easier than Picnik. Good luck- xo Diana

  4. I just love that Susan! It goes to show that a tablescape doesn’t need to be elaborate to be beautiful and I so agree that if it means you get to visit with a friend, and instant drink is definitely the way to go! 🙂
