Snowman Finale

Welcome to My Place to Yours this week after Christmas! I hope you’ve had wonderful times with family and friends during all of your holiday festivities!

Today I’m sharing with you a brief glimpse at two tablescapes I did while my family was together last week. They are my Christmas Finale — although I would never call them a “grand” finale. They’re very simple “real” tablescapes … the kind I do more often than not. (Sorry if that disappoints you!)

One evening I used this Debbie Mumm set with a favorite damask tablecloth …

The centerpiece was a round silver tray with a berry wreath laid on top … and a peppermint candle floated in a textured glass candleholder in the center.  I added single smaller peppermint floater candles to votive holders at each end of the table. A candy cane tucked into the tasseled napkin ring and textured-stemmed goblets from Dollar Tree tie it all together. Super easy!

The next morning, I used placemats — the reverse side of the ones I used HERE. They’re a little crowded on the table, but you can tell from the only two pieces of flatware that it’s a casual meal … and we’re a close family!

I used the same silver tray and berry wreath from the night before, but this time I turned the candleholder upside down and used it to elevate a spunky snowman — a gift this year from a special friend. Then I used the snowman plates I found years ago at Dollar General. (I use them after Christmas, too, since they’re so Wintery!) Vintage glasses and a textured hair scrunchy for a napkin ring, and we’re done!

That’s it for today. Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope each of you has a safe and happy New Year celebration. I look forward to our visits in 2011!

  7. You got that stemware at the Dollar Tree store??!?!?!! I am going to HAVE to visit that place! I see people talking about it, but I just need to find one here in the Lee’s Summit (MO) area. They must have some really cool stuff, because that stemware is the bomb! Wow!!! Cool plates, too! Have a great New Year, and thanks for stopping by “my place” earlier! Bye!

  8. Both sets of plates are adorable. I can’t believe how many wonderful plates there are out there. Thanks for showing both. How fun to turn a few things around and have two new tables! Have a wonderful New Year!

  9. I really like it when things can be used in at least two different ways. You’ve done a terrific job. Thanks for sharing your ideas with us, Happy New Year!!!

  10. I adored your Debbie Mumm set! It looks Eastern European, for some reason, maybe it’s the border, but it has an exotic feel to it. Love it, love it! Oh, and BTW, I also do “real” tablescapes like this. That’s the whole point, isn’t it? Wonderful Christmas tables!

  11. Loved all your tables. Just so pretty. Hope you and yours have a Healthy and Happy New Year.

  13. I like both of them! I do “real” tablescapes most of the time, and “real” ones can be just as lovely. Yours certainly are!

I love those Santa plates. I have the platter to match the snowman ones. It’s all full of Christmas whimsy. Just terrific!

  14. I think your “real” tables are pretty fancy! Both are very pretty. I love everything Debbie Mumm and these plates no exception. And the switcheroo for the next morning is just as lovely. Wonderful tablescapes.
