Welcome to My Place to Yours! If you've been kind enough to visit here before, you probably know that I love vintage linens. I don't even mind when they have a few "imperfections" since it usually just means they've been enjoyed rather than hidden in a drawer. But sometimes a beautiful old piece has so many holes that I end up using it solely as a pretty background in pictures. That was the case with the gorgeous crocheted tablecloth I used in these pics. It could only be classified as a "cutter" ... and so I decided to let it go during my recent porch sale. I hoped someone could cut it up (thus, the name) and make something pretty out of the good sections. Someone did! Only days after ... Keep Reading...
Waking Up to White
Good morning! I'm in the mood for a pretty white breakfast table today, but it's only going to happen in Blogland. Little Man and Little Sir are here visiting for one more day, and they'll be waking up any minute ... and breakfast time with an almost 3-year-old and an almost 3-month-old is more functional than fancy ... but I hope you enjoy looking at the table I'd set for you this morning if YOU were joining me. Yes, I know it's not proper etiquette to use candles during the day, but I always like to know the rules ... so I can decide when to break them! Besides, I think these sweet little candleholders perfectly complement the shape of the juice glasses and the "frill" of the gladiolus. I'll ... Keep Reading...
GIVE IT UP! A Sally List Update
Hello all! Thanks for stopping by today. I'm really glad you're here. Quite frankly, I'm glad I'm here, too! (Translation: I'm glad Sister and I survived our crazy-busy, heavy-lifting, lots-of-standing weekend -- and lived to tell about it!) As you know if you read my last post, my Sister was flying in from Texas to help me with this... After two days of locating all of my hidey-holes (you can see some of them HERE and HERE), hauling my "stash of stuff" to the living room, and setting up display spaces on the porch, Saturday morning arrived and it was time to move everything outside. There was, however, no time to grab the good camera, so we'll just have to make do with cell phone pics... We used every inch of ... Keep Reading...
Company’s coming … and I’M SO GLAD!
I suppose I can hardly call her "company" since she's my Sister ... and that makes her Family any ol' day of the week! But by the time you see this, United Airlines should have delivered her to my doorstep (I wish!) and we'll be getting into who-knows-what. I'm so glad! Renaissance Man's garden is "glad" too ... even though he's out of town. Sister's gonna LOVE his "glads!" Don't you? In anticipation of her visit, I set a quick table for two ... Here's a tablescaping tip ... If you look closely at the top plate, you'll notice that the green is really more "mint" than "lime," but it works beautifully with the lime green placemats. That's because our eyes see the tiny touch of yellow in the floral and ... Keep Reading...
Closet Speak
How was your weekend? I managed to enjoy a little down time Friday night, but Saturday morning arrived bright and early ... and this stared me in the face. ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK! The must-do, couldn't put it off any longer, closet cleaning day had arrived ... and I didn't wanna! At all. I knew what I'd find in there. I'd been trying to ignore it. Jumbles of jewelry never put away after my last out-of-town trip ... or the one before that ... or the one before ... Purses tossed on top of each other. Some really needed to be donated ... Others flat out pitched. I mostly only use a couple of them anyway. And shoes ... Once neatly organized, many boxes now ... Keep Reading...
Calm Before the Storm
While everyone's gearing up for Father's Day weekend, I'm thinking about laying low ... for one short evening. Renaissance Man is headed out of town for awhile (and I've got a list a mile long of things I want to accomplish while he's away), but Friday night after I take him to the airport, I'm going into "down time" mode for a few hours. Maybe I'll rent a movie ... or start one of the many books I have waiting for me. Maybe I'll go to bed early. No, I'd rather sleep late the next morning ... and wake up to this. What? Can't a girl dream a little? Be honest. I know you dream about pretty dishes ... and glassware ... and the palest of pink linens ... And flowers. You DO dream about flowers, ... Keep Reading...
Havin’ A Hay Day
This blogger is a city girl ... but I think I'm a country girl at heart. I absolutely love to see this ... become this ... and then this ... A couple of weeks ago, I watched for the longest time as two local farmers baled hay. It always fascinates me when that round bale rolls out. Sssshh ... Don't tell my hubby I'm THAT easy to please! It's 21st century farming, but I think it's still so peaceful ... Pastoral. So you cannot imagine my delight a few days ago when Renaissance Man called to say I should drive by the field where we've seen the draft horses and check out the happenings. He knew I had my camera with me ... and that I was already in the vicinity. In fact, he was a few ... Keep Reading...
Summer Flower Power
Click HERE to visit Gayle's blog Gayle, please email me and I'll send you the software download code! I realize that Summer isn't officially here yet, but in my neck of the woods, Summer Vacation has arrived! Even Blogland seems to be inundated with Summer-related posts ... so why not a rustic Summer Flower Power-themed tablescape this week? A special friend gave me these little sunflower plates at the very end of last summer, but with The Big Event last Fall, I just never got a chance to show them to you. This is also that friend's birthday week, and she's been on my mind, so it seems like the perfect time to enjoy a little flower power! Rudbeckia ... Cheery vintage floral ... Keep Reading...
Where Do I Keep It All?
Once again this year, The Tablescaper is celebrating her blog-aversary by hosting a Where Do You Keep It All? party. I joined her party last year, and that post is my all-time most read post. I guess we're all just a little curious, aren't we? I've decided to party with her again this year, but even as I show you where I keep some of my things, I'm going to admit that I've been asking myself another question lately: WHY Do You Keep It All? The truth is, much of what I'm going to show you was bought for re-sale ... but it takes a lot of time to photograph and list this much stuff ... and so I've decided to let it go sooner rather than later. Look closely ... Almost everything you'll see is available, and I'm ready to ... Keep Reading...

My Memories is offering one reader of My Place to Yours a chance to win your very own My Memories Suite software. Even if you're not a scrapbooker, you'll still want to check it out. Go HERE to read all about it ... and enter to win. I used the My Memories software to make today's Pink Saturday picture. Renaissance Man has several colors of beautiful Asiatic lilies strutting their stuff in our garden right now, but I chose this "pretty in pink" one to share with you today ... Happy Pink Saturday! I hope you're having a wonderful weekend. I'm partying with Beverly at How Sweet the Sound. ... Keep Reading...
Something New … Something Blue
Although brides and grooms tie the knot year-round, June has long been the traditional month for weddings. I had hoped to do a "full blown" tablescape for you this week using Noritake Marywood china, but my plans changed and I ended up with the Wedding Blues. I'll share the china with you anyway... Click the collage once -- or twice! -- to enlarge it. Marywood was a popular choice of beauty-loving, price-conscious brides in the 1970s ... and continued to be offered until the mid '90s. I think its delicate blue flowers, bright white field, and thin platinum band are still stunning decades later. Let's do an impromptu link-up, why don't we? If you have a blog and have ever done a ... Keep Reading...
Limited to ONE WORD … Is it possible?
If you haven't yet entered my giveaway for the My Memories Digital Scrapbooking software, what are you waiting on? Their online scrapbook software is f.u.n! I spent a minute today looking at the My Memories blog and saw this ... Why not? I knew just the pictures (and the ONE WORD) to use. They were taken on my last trip to Brazil with Hope Unlimited for Children. I wonder how to say this word in Portuguese ... Check out the other entries HERE. Every time I open the software, I find another really fun feature ... but I've only just begun to discover them all! You don't want to miss out on the fun, do you? My Memories is ... Keep Reading...
