Christmas throughout the house…

Just a few pictures today to document Christmas 2014 and what we presume will be our last Christmas in our old house. I added a few simple touches in every room. Thought you might like to see a few of them:

  • ornaments and vintage “Made in Japan” gift boxes garland in the Dining Room
  • angel guardian and little drummer boy in the Living Room
  • poinsettias in front of the Master Bedroom fireplace
  • the Reason for the Season — front and center

This year, stockings are hung very simply along the banister using festive red tulle ribbon. Did you notice the vintage ornament wreath (aka my newest obsession)? stockings

Hundreds of vintage ornaments hang on our “first REAL tree in a long time” Fraser Fir… and we are loving it! Inside…

… and out!

Xmas 20142

Believe it or not, I really am still de-cluttering. All of these ornaments have found new homes! Most of them are G.O.N.E. but a few are still wreaths “for sale.” Even if I have to hang onto them until next year, they’ll take up a lot less space than boxes of ornaments!

Did you notice my three newest ones?  🙂  Every time I think I decide on a favorite, I change my mind!wreath collage 2

Whether you decked out your halls this year—or decorated simply like we did—I hope these final days leading up to Christmas are focused on the things that matter most: family, friends, and the anticipated birth of the Babe who loves you more than you can imagine.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only son, that whoever believes in him, will not perish but have eternal life.

(John 3:16)

To those of you headed out this weekend for early celebrations…

Safe travel and happy memory-making!

  1. How lovely. The final, beloved Christmas-hoorah in your God-given home. Every good and perfect gift comes from His hand.

    Merry Christmas hugs,
    Kelley~

  2. Your wreaths are absolutely beautiful, endearing and enduring! I hope you have a change of heart and hang onto them. They are just so pretty as you well know because you can’t pick a favorite! Your tree is beautiful, too, and I’m sure the scent of the fresh fir really makes the house feel (and smell!) festive!

This is a year when thanking the Lord is more on the front burner than ever. Count me among those who feel blessed to have Him in my life!

Merry Christmas to you and your family, Susan.
