Another Mood Swing

Welcome to My Place to Yours! I hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend where you live. The weather here in East Tennessee has been beautiful … and our daffodils finally began to smile at us. Renaissance Man worked in the yard much of the weekend … and I worked on taxes.  Ugh!  I did escape for a little while, though, to trim back a few rose bushes … and to play with Little Man for awhile this afternoon. I definitely feel another mood swing coming on!

The last time that happened, I went from cool, light, and airy …

… to warm and textured.  I told you what that was like HERE.

Now I’m reverting  — to cool … and light … and airy.

And please … Bring on the flowers!

This Dutch Masters-inspired arrangement is a favorite of mine and was a gift from two special friends.

But they would be the first to say that you just can’t beat the Creator’s flowers … and they’re just about to burst forth in color. I can hardly wait to share them with you!

If you’ve visited here recently, you may already know that bird’s nests are also part of my Spring decor. I featured this little nest HERE in my last post.

Birds are another “element” of my Winter to Spring mood swing.

Of course, birds and nests come with eggs!  (If you look closely you may see that the bird on this egg is nothing more than a printed tissue paper decoupaged onto a dyed egg.)

When Spring arrives, I like to use bright white linens … and baskets.

And milk glass

Butterflies

Bunnies

Statuary (although I tend to use it year-round) …

Pitchers

Crosses
No cross.  No Easter.

And blue and white
I love it year-round, too, but I especially enjoy seeing it when the weather starts to turn warm!

So what about you?
What “elements” of Spring decorating do you like to use? Are some of my favorites your favorites, too?  I’d love to know!

  3. Very beautiful and so springy. Love that bouquet — it is amazing!

  4. Your spring touches are inspirational. Before blogging, I didn’t switch things up that much around here. It’s like a breath of fresh air to be motivated and inspired by folks with an eye for decorating.

I haven’t done that much springy decorating yet. Hoping to do it this week.

  5. I so enjoy the lovely things you’ve grouped together–especially the blues!

    Happy Blue Monday, Susan.

  8. So pretty. I love your blue and white of course! Is your tea light candle holder an antique or a newer purchase? I love the design on it.

  9. Gorgeous!

My blues, have a nice day!

  10. Beautiful post. I love those blue books!!! ~~Sherry~~

  11. Meredith, so glad you like the tealight holder. So did I … When I saw it at Dollar Tree! I “splurged” and bought a pair for $2. I think it was last year.

The antique in the group is the blue vase. It’s from the 1800s.

  12. So gorgeous and lovely!!

  14. Hello Susan,
I loved to see your Spring decor, just made me want to bring more flowers inside my home.
I love to have bulbs flowering inside my house, love fresh cut flowers, birds and nests, lots of white, too!
Here in Ohio is still cold (42F), can’t wait for warmer weather!
    Take care.

  20. What a beautiful post this is…nothing to surprising with you Susan, always gorgeous. I love your arrangement, the birds, the butterflies, the ceramic baskets…all a total symphony of loveliness.
Thank you so much for your very kind and generous comments. Yeah, my hubby used to own a ceramic factory and that’s where we used to make the dishes, I can’t believe this had the shamrocks, I was so lucky! Have a great St. Pat’s pretty lady.

  21. “no crosses=no Easter”…Amen to that Susan! 🙂 This is all just absolutely beautiful and I loved how the pics just built on each other until the grand finale. I especially liked that decoupaged egg and the addition of the blue and white pieces. I’m such a sucker for blue and white! Thank you so much for linking this up to Inspiration Friday and for being such a wonderful friend to us at the Fence!
