If you saw my last post, you know that the tree in my sweet husband’s study is decorated with a Woodland Christmas theme. It was my first inspiration for this week’s tablescape.
These handpainted salad/dessert plates by Royal Norfolk were my second inspiration. (I picked them up several years ago at one of the dollar stores.)
First I covered my table with a golden-tan heavy linen tablecloth. Then I started on the centerpiece — a couple of faux pine boughs laid down the center of the table. Next I tucked in a check ribbon … metal star ornaments …
… antlers … clip-on birds … gold ball ornaments … candleholders of wood and amber glass (visible in other pics) …
… and some old hand-cast brass bells from Italy (an auction box find). I love their crusty-rough texture!
Then I tucked in this gilded sleigh and deer …
(A Dollar Tree find from a few years ago.)
… some pheasant tail feathers …
… and filled the sleigh with acorns.
Finally, I set the table with embossed leaf chargers, Gibson Nova Scroll dinner plates, and my inspiration plates …
… the burnt sienna-colored napkins that I dyed HERE … embossed leaf napkin rings …
… these gorgeous goblets I found at Dollar Tree right after Thanksgiving …
… and Oneida Mozart flatware. (Oh, if I’d only had some of the beautiful antler-handled flatware! I wouldn’t use it very often, but it would have been perfect for today, huh?)

Do you like “behind the scenes” tours? If so, you might like these Tips & Tidbits …
* Wait to pack away your Fall decor until after you’ve done your Woodland Christmas decorating! The wood and amber glass candleholders, leaf chargers, and acorns were all used in my Fall tablescapes. You may remember seeing them!
* It doesn’t take much ribbon to add a “punch” of color to a tablescape. For this centerpiece I used five scrap pieces of ribbon — each one only 15-20″ long — and tucked them into the branches. The trick is to use wired ribbon so you can make it stay where you want it to. Remember: wired ribbon is your friend!
* Did you notice that the gold ornaments were a muted gold rather than a shiny gold? Since I had a choice, I went with the softer look rather than the bright.
* The tablecloth … became the tree skirt for the Woodland Christmas tree in the study.

I love the Woodland Christmas theme! Fall is my favorite time of year and I believe in using those acorns, pheasant feathers, etc as long as you can! I have those chargers and plan on using them for a Snowy Woods table later this season.

oh my God, is that a pretty woodland table. And it is so perfect with the whole room and the gorgeous Christmas tree. I really love all the details on your pictures. The china is wonderful and the gioblets are perfect in color and shape. The pine make a wonderful decoration, much more woody and lighter than fir twigs.

This is sooo pretty! I love this so much. I have a friend who decorated her tree last year with all her husbands deer antlers too! I was going to feature her this year if she does it again. It was different then yours but I love the way you did yours and the table. I really love your dishes too! So gorgeous! I like your new goblets too. I got the Better Homes and Garden ones right b4 thanksgiving from Walmart in the same color. They were on clearance for $1.50. Woohoo! We are such birds of a feather are’nt we? LOL! I have got to go see your cabinet now too!
