FACING FORWARD in 2013

It’s a new year … one milestone we all have in common no matter where we live in the world.

Happy New Year to all!
I’ve enjoyed the online retrospectives some of you bloggers have posted here in Blogland as 2012 turned to 2013. Maybe I’ll do one sometime … but this year I’ll just say that my 2012 “word of the year” (declutter) kept me focused as I worked to organize both my surroundings and my mind.

I wish I could tell you it was a total success, but I’m afraid I’ll be using 2013 for Declutter: Part 2; it just won’t be my focus.

Instead, as I find myself facing forward on this first day of 2013, two random words keep coming to mind.I wonder if they offer any clues to what lies ahead …

circle
completion, unbroken, unity, all-encompassing – “running around in”

shelter
home, family, protection

I guess I’ll just embrace these two words and see what happens.

Let’s make it official: My shape of the year is the circle … and my word of the year is shelter.
Here we go …

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust. (Psalm 91:1-2)

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I’m looking forward to “seeing circles” with you in 2013!

What are you looking forward to in the new year?

Comments

  1. I love the circle concept. What springs to my mind immediately is something my father used to read by Markham:
“He drew a circle that shut me out-
Heretic , rebel, a thing to flout.
But love and I had the wit to win:
We drew a circle and took him In !
Don’t you love it? Happy 2013. xo Diana

  2. I look forward to each new day! Happy New Year, Susan!

  3. Oh my spirit just jumped with this…I can’t wait. I still see you going through your closet and dealing with items both emotionally and physically…that ministered so much to me. You also dealt with the passing of your mother-in-law in such a cherished way..I pray I will also. Your journey has inspired and I pray that 2013 will be more than you expect…well I know it will be, because His ways are always higher than ours!!
    Hugs,
    Janette
