Last week I had so much fun using sunflowers in my tablescape that I decided to strrrrretch out Summer one more week and use them again. Next week I’ll turn my thoughts to Fall decorating, but for now, I hope you’ll enjoy one final punch of summer color!
These plates were my inspiration …
and these fabulous sunflowers and zinnias were blooming in the yard.
So I pulled out a favorite heavy blue damask tablecloth and started playing — and this is what happened …
I used items that are available in my Etsy and eBay shops — a versatile set of creamy-white dishes, vintage cobalt glass salad plates, and the slightly smaller cheese plates.
Then came my clear glasses with cobalt blue stems …
… my vintage white linen napkins and gold beaded napkin rings …
… and my flatware.
Finally, in keeping with the “cheese” theme, I added this wonderful set of cheese knives I received as a gift from my youngest daughter. She’s the “cheese connoisseur” in our family, and I’ll admit that she had to teach me which knife to use with which type of cheese. (Do YOU know your cheese knives?)
Overall, it was a quick and easy tablescape that I think makes a cheerful and welcoming first impression. I hope you agree!

Wow, the vibrant color of that tablecloth just grabs your eye, love it!
Beautiful in every way!!! LOVE that blue table cloth. And those plates are gorgeous. Your flowers are just beautiful. Wish I could grow some like that!
Cute plates! Love the cheese knives around the table and the tablecloth itself is stunning! It makes everything pop!
Love it all!
Nancy
If I had those beautiful flowers available, they would have been an inspiration for me too! I love all the vibrant colors together. They look exactly how I “feel” right now. Still just too hot for autumn but not really summery. It’s a cobalt and sunflower time for sure, and your table captured it perfectly.
Thanks for stopping by — loved all your bright colors! Don’t believe we’ve “met”, but I will be back.
Ahhhh…what beautiful flowers…luv your tablescape!
Blessings,
Linda
Oh, the cheese plates look fabulous against the vivid cobalt tablecloth…add the bright flowers and your table is stunning. Thanks for sharing, Susan.
Wow! This is really beautiful! Looks like a picture of out of a magazine!
I just love that bright pop of blue of your tablecloth. It sets everything else off so nicely. Your flowers are lovely.
What stunning flowers! And they’re from your own yard? Impressive! The cheese plates look fabulous on that deep blue tablecloth!
So pretty — your flowers a lovely against that pretty blue tablecloth. I gave those very cheese plates away in my 100th post — now I think I’m sorry I did!
Wonderful tablesetting, but the sunflowers and zinna are the best.
A shot of color indeed! This is wonderfully fantastic. And to think that those glorious flowers came from your garden….incredible blessing. Thank you for sharing your charming design. Cherry Kay
The tablecloth is stunning! Does it happen to have a tag on it that could tell us the manufacturer? or did you ever happen to ask the person who gave it to you where he/she found it? absolutely beautiful!
Michele, I’ve had the tablecloth for a long time. My memory is that it came from Crate and Barrel, but it doesn’t have a tag. I probably removed it years ago. Sorry I can’t be more helpful. Thanks for stopping by!
