Is it just me, or is this GENIUS?

I grew up in Austin, Texas, so I’m a city girl. But every move I’ve made since leaving home has taken me to a smaller town.

This post may prove I don’t get out much!

When I see a new-to-me idea that I think is brilliant, it makes a BIG impression.

Last year about this time, Little Man (our older grandson) began playing youth football in the big city where he lives. Of course, this Nonna and Poppa (aka Renaissance Man) had to go watch him play.

It was a big deal!

But this isn’t a “football” post—other than to tell you that his team won every game last season except the two we attended; one was lost in the final minute. So sad!

Little Man’s not sure he wants us to come for his games this year.

Can you blame him?

But you see, while Little Man was playing, Little Sir was b-o-r-e-d. I kinda feel the same about football although I’ve been to LOTS of football games!

So let’s just say I was beyond excited to discover this shaved ice truck with its brilliant child-height, self-serve set-up. Have you seen anything like it (or am I proving my small-town exposure)? Can you imagine anything more fun on a hot day (when big brother’s playing football) than getting to

  1. get a snowcone
  2. pick your flavor(s)
  3. make it yourself
  4. all of the above!

Did this “just for fun” post prove I don’t get out much? Do you have a kid-friendly shaved ice/snowcone truck in your neck of the woods?

By the way . . . what’s your fave flavor?

Coming to My Place to Yours in October

I’m already compiling some of my previous confabs, but I’d love to hear from you, too! If you have a question, concern, comment or suggestion that you’d like to ask, the Contact Me button is at the top right corner of this blog. Click it and start the you-choose-the-topic confab! By the way, if yours is a vintage linen question, it’s always helpful to see pics. (Close-up/flash off works best)

I look forward to sharing your questions with readers. I suspect some of you have similar ones you’ve yet to ask!

  1. Yep! Confirmed! You’ve become a small town girl. 😂. However, these trucks are really cool. We’ve had them at VBS in the past. Cherry is always my go to.

  2. Well, I KNOW I’m a small town girl, but also a city girl. I have not seen those kid friendly trucks, and I agree that they’re genius. Reminds me of the old Dairy Queen Mister Misty. Cherry was always my favorite.
Too funny your grandson isn’t sure he wants you to go to his games!
