Tablescape Inspiration: DAILY BREAD

Welcome to My Place to Yours!  I’m so glad you stopped by today. It’s a “catch-up” week around here, and I don’t have time for a full-blown tablescape … but I’ll share a few thoughts and an inspiration board instead.

I was thinking about the Table with Heart … and how it draws me in while giving daily sustenance to children who so desperately need it.  I couldn’t help but think of myself as a recipient of that same “daily bread” … from the same Source.  Me … who so desperately needs it.

My heavenly Father provides for all of my needs … and so very many of my wants.  He blesses me with calm and peace in the midst of confusion and stress … I have but to askI have but to remember how He teaches me to pray.

Inspiration:  Daily Bread

After this manner therefore pray ye:
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Matthew 6:9-13 (KJV)

Do the words of the Lord’s Prayer bring you comfort … confusion … courage?  Does the prayer feel “antiquated” — or does it minister to you today?  No judgment here.  I’d really like to know.

  1. I do find a calmness when I listen to or say the Lord’s Prayer. And in my humble opinion I think it still applies today.

Heaven is beautiful and filled with so much love that we so much want this to be the same on earth. Nourishment is very much a need to sustain our earthly body … and when we need forgiveness – it is important to remember to forgive others. And of course we all wish to do good … because ultimately we all wish to return to heaven. I have yet to hear someone say when there time here on earth ends they hope to go the opposite of heaven …

Wishing you a fabulous week..hugs and blessings, C. (HHL)

  2. I don’t think it is antiquated, words still hold true. xo

  3. A mighty prayer for today and always!♥♫

  4. What a wonderful prayer and the collage is lovely. Hope you have a great week-xo Diana

  5. This prayer is a daily ritual. It’s calming and provides the reassurance that God provides for us. Beautiful post. Matthew 7:7
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you:

  6. Oh, no….The Lord’s Prayer will NEVER feel antiquated to me!!! It is, after all, the LORD’S prayer!!!

  7. Beautiful inspiration. Lovely post for each of us.

  8. It definitely isn’t antiquated to me in a bad sense, but it does have the feeling of an old family homeplace. To me, when I pray the Lord’s Prayer, especially in fellowship with believers, I feel as if I am visiting some place very old and secure.

I taught a unit on it a few years ago. It took weeks as we went through part after part. It remains one of my favorite units ever.

  9. My friend made a beautiful prayer shawl and adorned it with special buttons, pins, etc.. Each adornment represents one part of the Lord’s Prayer, and she uses them to lead into prayers for others over each tenet mentioned in the Lord’s Prayer. It’s a special shawl for a special prayer.
