Pairing With Pink

It’s 5:00 on Friday afternoon of this holiday weekend, and I’m soooo ready for a break! You, too?  I’ll do red, white, and blue on Monday, but today, let’s “think pink

OK, I realize these first few pictures have no — zero — pink in them, but you reeaally have to see them.

I recently had a chance to hang out with my friend Pam who owns From the Garden Floral Events.  She was decorating for a wedding that was mixed with lots of vintage charm. Just look at the beautiful locket-style brooch worked in to this gorgeous hand-tied bride’s bouquet …

Vintage — yet modern …

It was seriously gorgeous!  But it wasn’t pink …

But … the bridesmaid’s bouquet was!

Look at this vintage butterfly brooch!

Pink in the flower girl’s kissing ball, too!
Not to worry … The rain cleared just in time for the wedding!

Random pink touches everywhere …

I can just imagine how pretty this table was when completely finished!

How many pink carnations does it take to cover an 8″ ball?
Answer: 120 !!!

A little hard to see the branches in the urns, but I’ll bet they were gorgeous when the uplights were turned on!

They look real, don’t they?

I love this idea!

We’d better disappear …  It’s time for the guests to arrive!

Best wishes to the newlywed pair!

  1. Susan, these pictures are gorgeous! I LOVE those hanging vases. I’m so glad you gave us a peek.

Not sure if I mentioned because I’ve been telling some of my bloggy neighbors and have lost track, but I do hope you join in my White Christmas in July Blog Party. It’s more toward the end of July (7/21) but I’m sharing with friends already so that they all have plenty of time to put something delightfully inspiring together and spread the word too. It wouldn’t be the same without you.

    Enjoy your 4th.

  2. Susan, I really enjoyed your post. I didn’t know how many carnations it took, but I do now! Have a safe and happy holiday.
