BREAKING THE SILENCE: On the third day . . .

Picking up where we left each other . . . Contemplating the crucifixion of Jesus and His sacrificial death.

Pain. Grief.

SILENCE.

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
the Creator of heaven and earth,
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived of the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into hell.

The third day He arose again from the dead.

He ascended into heaven
and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
from whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.

What a difference a day makes!

It’s Sunday, and the grave stone is rolled away. The tomb of Jesus is EMPTY.

The fantastical events He foretold did not die but are now reality.

Jesus has risen from the dead. HE IS ALIVE!

The cross and the tomb did not have the final say. God did.

For Christians, the cross is not merely a symbol of death but of life and unconditional love. It’s a symbol of forgiveness — and an invitation to spend eternity with the triune God.

I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?

John 11:25-26

Do you believe this?

For me, it isn’t Easter without the cross. The empty cross—and the empty grave.

As I celebrate my risen Lord today, I wish all who celebrate with me a blessed and happy Easter.

To all who read this and do not share my celebration, I wish for you peace.
