Where Are You Carving Your Name?

Carve your name on hearts, not on marble.
Charles Spurgeon

I’ve been attempting to carve my name on hearts lately, so I’ve been a bit absent here.  As much as I’ve missed you, it’s the right choice.  I know you’ll agree.  I’ll get back in the swing of things soon …

During this really busy Summer of travel for my husband, it’s been nice having him home for a few days … spending time together canning and freezing our harvest.

Making Spider-Man birthday memories with Little Man …
Will someone please tell me where the past 4 years have gone?

Helping with design work for a church project — a new entrance for an old cemetery; a living gift from one spouse to another.

There’s more, but you get the idea …

How are you spending these last weeks of Summer? Have you carved your name on any hearts lately?

Do it!

  1. Sounds like you have been carving your name on hearts and writing on the soul! Good for you- xo Diana

  2. Have I ever told you that Spurgeon is my all time favorite commentator on the Word? He is. I even got a set of his commentaries from my husband for my birthday one year. Some women get diamonds, I get apples of gold in settings of silver.

I love that quote and I HAVE been trying to carve my name in hearts. That’s where I’ve been too.

The whole spider man theme just plain makes me smile. Little ones are so cute. Why anyone would want to sit in front of a computer when they have the option of enjoying them boggles my mine. Bet it boggles your too.

  3. I ask myself this question just about daily. Hoping to be making a difference in the lives I touch, I read email from a daughter this morning. Our granddaughter wants my deviled eggs for her birthday party next week-end!:-) So, without intending to do so, I have “carved my name” in her memory.:-) Wonderful times are spent with family, and the years pass far too quickly. It looks like that Spiderman birthday party was a real success! xo Nellie

    • Nellie, my daughters (and I!) have wonderful memories of their now-deceased Grannie’s deviled eggs, so your comment brought back many good memories. It makes me smile to know that you’ve been busy making those same happy memories for your granddaughter, and I know she’ll be thrilled to partake of your deviled eggs next weekend! Happy birthday to her! Keep carving, my friend …

  4. We’ve done our share of Spider Man, Super Man, Luke Skywalker, etc., birthday parties, too. It is such a stitch to watch little boys pretend to be Super Heros. A blessed way to get to write on the hearts of beloved children. Cherry Kay
