Spring Favorites Tablescape

Sunshine and Springtime …
I love them both!
springfav2

I also love how these softly-colored salad plates from Williams Sonoma really “pop” when set atop my Italian basket weave plates.
springfav3

The six plates each have a different handpainted design … and the flowers, butterflies, and insects just seem to shout SPRING! I’ve never used them in a tablescape here before. Don’t you think it’s about time?

I thought these vintage damask napkins with their showy dahlias were the perfect complement to the yellow rim on the plates … and the morning sunshine streaming onto the breakfast table.
springfav6

This Fitz and Floyd tea set is something else I’ve never showed you. It was a Mother’s Day gift years ago, and I absolutely love its vibrant colors! I also received the matching platter. You can see it displayed in a picture above.

A vintage cutwork doily with its stunning dogwood design, my favorite “hammered” glass stemmed glasses from Dollar Tree, and Oneida Raphael stainless …
The breakfast table is set. Let the day begin!

Do you have something you’ve been “meaning to use” around your house??

I guess I’m still in see-through mode.  Did you miss it HERE?

I’ll be joining:

  1. I love blue and yellow together in a kitchen!

  2. Cool…shooting through the hole in the top of the chair. It’s always about perspective, isn’t it! I really like the Williams-Sonoma botanical plates…and the tea set is outstanding. Someone was on the mark with that mother’s day gift! Thanks for inviting us for a peak. Cherry Kay

  3. A lovely spring table, Susan! My eye was immediately drawn to that beautiful teapot, and I enjoyed seeing the teaset pieces together, too. Yellow IS the color of spring!

  4. What a pretty table to break a fast. Love the shot through the chair back!
    Have a great week, Susan…

  5. What a lovely spring table, Susan! Such a cherry way to begin the day! xo Nellie

  6. Susan, I love how delicate the plates are! The teapot is charming with it. A beautiful table to start the day! xo marlis

  7. I love this table, Susan. Those hand painted plates are lovely and the tea pot with the sugar and creamer is beautiful. xo

  8. NO KIDDING it’s about time!!!!!!!! You just allowed those pretty little things to languish in a cupboard somewhere??!?!?!! For shame, Susan! For shame!!!! 🙂

The dishes really brighten up the table, and the napkins jump right in and do their part in that parade. Love it! The Fitz & Floyd is pretty with the whole table design! And I STILL haven’t seen those great “hammered” stems at our local Dollar Tree stores. 🙁

There are a LOT of things around here I’m trying desperately to use. With no sunshine for days on end, though, my photography schedule gets backed up. I’m thinking I will need to hit one of my photographer friends up for a light!!! 🙂 Have a great day!

  9. What a beautiful table and I love your sweet dishes.
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia 😉

  10. I can’t believe you’ve never featured that Fitz & Floyd tea set! I love everything that company does, it’s always so so cute. The platter looks amazing, you must show that close up! The tea set is the perfect centerpiece for your pretty breakfast table, so bright and cheery!

  11. Susan I love your table setting. It’s just lovely and how cute those plates are! The napkins are the perfect color to coordinate with them, too. Love the Fitz & Floyd set. I love all their stuff. xo Diana

  12. I love every little thing about this table. I am in the mood to play with dishes and just need to find the time to do it. It just refreshes me (kind of like springtime itself.) I love those dishes that are the focal point of the table, and I’m crazy about the tea set. However, my favorite part of all is the linen napkin. I have some very similar that I bought at an estate sale during my yellow year. They are my favorites of all my linens. Don’t know why; they just are.

And I really loved the see through picture.

  13. Love your tea set and the table.the plates are awesome ….:):)

  14. I highlighted your post today on my blog for Centerpiece Wed. http://thestylesisters.blogspot.com/2013/04/centerpiece-wednesday-and-wrap-up_24.html
