The DOORS OF OUR LIVES …

It’s time for another Notecard Party at A Haven for Vee.  I have a thing for notecards, so I try to join the party as often as possible.  It’s a really fun party!

I also have a thing for doors.  All kinds of doors.  In fact, DOORS is the theme I chose for my February notecards. Since SHELTER is my word for 2013, it kinda makes sense, don’t you think?

Yes, I know some of you came expecting to see dishes.  Just keep reading.  Transferware Heaven is behind Door #3!
The Smoky Mountain National Park in Tennessee is home to this Little Cabin in the Woods.  Read about it HERE.

This door is in Santa Fe, NM.  You can read my Santa Fe posts HERE and HERE and HERE.

  1. I just received my Ramsign house numbers in the mail and they are wonderful! I’d love to have the house name done in enamel as well. Great giveaway.

  2. I do love doors! My biggest travel regret is that I did not photograph every wonderful door, when I visited Vienna, Austria years ago. Every time that I past a beautiful door, I commented on how beautiful it was. When I arrived home and started looking at my photos, I realized that I was so busy looking at the doors that I forgot to take pictures of them – yikes! My door now is painted, although I really prefer stained. The sun played havoc with the stain, so we finally gave in and painted it. Love all of the doors in your photo, especially that last one!

  3. Have had a lovely time wandering around “alone” looking at this and that here at your place. I do have a thing for doors and open ones at that. Thanks for participating this month and count me in for a Ramsign set of house numbers. They have a great look! Oops…I needed to read directions. Will try again.

  4. What fun! I love doors. You’ve shared some very interesting ones. I want to walk through each one and explore!

  5. I love the doors and really enjoyed going through the 3rd one to that beautiful Victorian home with so many pretty dishes! Thank you for the tour.

  6. Oh, I love doors too! Ones with character and substance. My dream door would be like one like the hobbits have! Lovely photos and thanks for sharing.

  7. Lovin’ the third pic, you can tell the glass is old and wavy:@)

  8. Love the doors! And you were right, all of these places were awesome! Thanks!

I have begun taking photos of doors, too! I got a neat one in Paramount Park in Malibu the other day when we were in So Cal.

  9. I love these!! I have a thing for pretty doors too, and ours have never been pretty. My favorite is the last one because an arched doorway is the most whimsical and beautiful to me. I always imagine a story behind it.

This is one of the best note card party contributions I have seen. Seriously.

  10. Do I remember Transferware Heaven? It has it’s own icon on my iPad. One of my favorite homes ever. I adore that powder bath with the pink toile walls and the blue delft tiles on the wash basin. I could go on and on. I love doors, too. When we travel, I always come home with multiple photos of interesting doors. Of course, it’s hard to beat the doors of Italy and Paris. Thanks for the peak and reprise. Cherry Kay

  11. I love your theme, as I do have a thing for doors…they are so intriguing, aren’t they? Door number 3 is my personal favorite. I adore multi-paned doors…and side lights…and even Indian corn, as I am an autumn girl all the way!

    • Thanks for your visit at Thinking About Home. Our church fellowship has soup suppers a couple of times a year. They are always great fun!

  12. Thanks for the tour behind Door #3. ‘-) Lots of dish love in that post!
