A State of Calm

I’m so glad you stopped by to celebrate Pink Saturday with me! I’ve got some very pretty pinks for you this week. They were a special treat on a recent visit to a friend’s home in California. She loves to garden … and I love her garden!

In our family, Renaissance Man is the gardener — and he loves lots of green space. That style of gardening is beautiful, I agree … but my friend Mimi has my very favorite kind of garden.

The kind with lush beds and meandering paths …

The kind that draws a sigh out of me around every bend…

The kind that includes both classic details…

and touches of whimsy …

The kind that exudes tranquility … and draws me closer to my Creator.

The very best kind of garden.

Thanks, Mimi, for sharing yours with me.

  10. Just discovered you pure delight!
I believe with all my heart that God speaks to us in nature that is why one of my favorite adventures is to have camera in hand and head out to see “nuggets” through the eyes of the lense. Thank you for your beautiful post.

  11. Stunning garden…wants to be there, reading a book and having lemonade! Heavenly, for sure! Thanks for sharing. Love, FABBY

  12. Dearest Susan,

Gorgeous looking garden but you are in a better climate zone (guess your friend Mimi too).
My husband did complete his Senior Management Program at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville in 1986. So I’ve visited there and know your area. Beautiful region; you can be proud!
Enjoy a lovely Sunday and lots of love,

    Mariette

  13. Your friend’s garden is beautiful. I would dearly love to have a garden with a path meandering through…

  14. Marydon, Mimi says the rose was one from her daughter’s wedding years ago and so holds special memories for her — but she doesn’t know its name. Sorry!

  15. Absolutely gorgeous photos. Thank you for sharing.
    Blessings,
    Charlotte
