An Encore Presentation

I’m not sure how we made it to Tablescape Thursday again already … but I’m so glad we did!!!  Welcome back — if you’ve been here before … and WELCOME to My Place to Yours if you’re here for the first time!  I certainly hope you enjoy your visit … and that you’ll come again often.

When I was here last, I shared this sweet cup and saucer with you — and told you I’d show you more today.

I will.  But first you get another sneak peek at the table …

And while I give you just one more peek …

You may remember recently when we took our field trip to the Replacements, Ltd. Museum that I hinted to my friend, Lisa, how I’d love for her to do a Spring tablescape for us.
encore18

She did a Fall tablescape for us HERE, and you all enjoyed it so much that I thought it would be fun to see how Lisa tablescapes in the Spring.
encore17

Well, I was delighted when Lisa took me up on my not-so-subtle/heard-across-Blogland hint! I was even more delighted when she suggested that I come over and take the pictures this time. NOT because I wanted or needed to take the pictures, but because lunch was included in the invitation!  Count me in!

Does her use of “Autumn” china and pottery in a Spring tablescape surprise you?
encore16

It works beautifully, though, doesn’t it?  The colors in the hydrangea centerpiece really bring out the pinks and greens in the china …
encore15

The china belonged to Lisa’s mother … and it’s surprisingly versatile. Good thing, because it would be a shame to think this beautiful set would only be used in the Fall.
encore14

The gorgeous napkin rings were a gift from one of Lisa’s neighbors.  The table linens were purchased recently from yours truly here at My Place to Yours. In fact, I showed you their before and after in THIS post. Aren’t they beautiful … now?

And tucked in as a little surprise is this timely Fitz & Floyd salt and pepper set. (You’ve forgotten all about the “Autumn” china by now, haven’t you?)

encore11

I used to think — long ago — that tables with a single design of dishes were boring.  But when I started looking, I wised up.  There may be only one pattern of dishes, but look at the gorgeous shapes!

Nothing boring about this table …

encore07

Lisa has a wonderful enclosed porch just off of her dining room — and she set another table for us out there.
encore06

She used the same dishes — but with her “everyday” flatware …
encore05

… and a totally different style of centerpiece.

As you can see, it works beautifully, too!  The fabulous old bowl belonged to Lisa’s maternal great-grandmother.
encore04

Yes, I know you all want details, so Lisa’s graciously given them to us…

The Dining Room table:
The china belonged to my mother and is Mitterteich Bavaria Autumn Leaves.
The flatware is a Wm A Rogers and Son silverplate pattern that belonged to my grandmother (my mother’s mother); I don’t know the pattern name.
The salt and pepper rabbits are Fitz and Floyd.
The napkin rings are from Land’s End; given to me by my neighbor.
The stoneware piece on the corner of the table is an original by Hank Goodman (Arden, NC)
The stemware was a department store find that came as a set of 6.
The swag down the middle of the dining room table came from Hobby Lobby.
The linens came from YOU!!

The Porch table:
The china belonged to my mother and is Mitterteich Bavaria Autumn Leaves.
The flatware is my everyday flatware; I think it is a Better Homes and Garden pattern.
The napkin rings came from Pier One.
The linens came from YOU!!

Many thanks, Lisa — for another great tablescape … the delicious lunch (including honey from your hive!) … and the wonderful afternoon with a friend!
