PINK Thanksgiving?

A few years ago, I found this tablecloth in an auction box of linens…

I love the vibrant pinks and greens, but I’ll admit that the design surprised me.  Green oak leaves and pink acorns?  Certainly NOT typical Autumn colors! I’ll admit something else … this tablecloth hung with my other linens, and — until now — I’ve never used it.  I started to a couple of times, but I honestly didn’t know what to “do” with it.  How could I tie an Autumn tablescape in with hot pink and green?

The other day I challenged myself to use this tablecloth. I tried a few things that made me laugh they were so bad.  (No, I absolutely did NOT take pictures!)

But finally, it started coming together … and I love it!  See what you think. I’ll show you the whole table first…

I could have used white dishes (and I might try that in the future), but this time I wanted the tablecloth to show, so I used clear glass.  A ribbed glass charger…

… pressed glass plate…

… and leaf-shaped bowls/tidbit dishes.

A beautiful clear goblet…

An embossed ceramic acorn and leaf napkin ring (on clearance last year at Wal-Mart).

A vintage Italian linen napkin … and Oneida “Raphael” flatware…

Finally, a chunky candleholder the color of the napkin rings … and a cornucopia overflowing with apples, grapes, and roses from the grocery store.  Just look at those beautiful greens and pinks!  The cornucopia was a $1 thrifty find 20+ years ago at a little antique shop in Granbury, Texas. It’s one of my favorite Thanksgiving decor pieces…

In case you’re wondering how I handled the “dead space” at the back of the cornucopia, I’ll show you…

I just tucked in a set of Franciscan “Desert Rose” salt and pepper shakers.

Just a few more pics before we turn down the lights…

Let’s call it a day…

I’m so glad you stopped by for a visit. If you have time, I’d love to hear from you!
